Description
This is the port for all stuff that comes in the contrib subtree of the postgresql distribution. This subtree contains porting tools, analysis utilities, and plug-in features that are not part of the core PostgreSQL system, mainly because they address a limited audience or are too experimental to be part of the main source tree. This does not preclude their usefulness.
Each subdirectory contains a README file with information about the module. Some directories supply new user-defined functions, operators, or types. After you have installed the files you need to register the new entities in the database system by running the commands in the supplied .sql file. For example,
$ psql -d dbname -f module.sql
The .sql files are installed into /usr/local/share/postgresql/contrib

Install
Binary package:

Lucas Holt | databases/postgresql18-contrib: fix staged README install (#1528) Fix Magus run 648 port ID 2261591. The post-install hook applied the
fake root twice, leaving the plist README absent. Validation: build,
fake, and package completed with _PGSQL_VER=18 and
DISABLE_CONFLICTS=yes; git diff --check passed. Analyzer assessment:
supported.

`libxml2.so.16` **and** removed ELF symbol versioning entirely — the new
library defines no `LIBXML2_*` versions at all. Consumers built against
the old library were never rebuilt, so they still record a dependency on
`libxml2.so.2` plus version requirements nothing can satisfy, and fail
at load time:
