Description

msmtp -- An SMTP client

msmtp is an SMTP client that can be used as an "SMTP plugin" for Mutt and probably other MUAs (mail user agents). It forwards mails to an SMTP server (for example at a free mail provider) which does the delivery. To use this program, create a configuration file with your mail account(s) and tell your MUA to call msmtp instead of /usr/sbin/sendmail.

Features include:

\* SMTP AUTH methods PLAIN, LOGIN and CRAM-MD5
(and DIGEST-MD5 and NTLM when compiled with GSASL support)
\* TLS encrypted connections
(including server certificate verification and the possibility to send
   a client certificate)
\* DSN (Delivery Status Notification) support
\* IPv6 support (on systems that support it)
\* support for multiple accounts
\* sendmail compatible exit codes (which most MUAs understand).

873f09f394 Lucas Holt mail/msmtp: update to 1.8.34 (#731)
Update `mail/msmtp` from 1.8.33 to 1.8.34. ## The patch added last release is already obsolete `files/patch-src_base64.h` was added for 1.8.33 to supply a missing `#include <stdbool.h>`. Upstream's gnulib re-import in 1.8.34 now carries that include itself at `src/base64.h:21`, so the patch fails: ``` Ignoring previously applied (or reversed) patch. 1 out of 1 hunks ignored--saving rejects to src/base64.h.rej ===> FAILED Applying MidnightBSD patch-src_base64.h ``` That's genuine obsolescence, not context drift, so the correct fix is deletion rather than a rewrite. Confirmed by a clean build with no patch present — no `stdbool`/`bool` errors in `base64.c`/`base64.o`. `files/` is now empty again. Upstream `NEWS` for 1.8.34 says verbatim: *"No significant changes."* …
92a4a566a0 Lucas Holt mail/msmtp: update to 1.8.33 (#717)
Update `mail/msmtp` from 1.8.15 to 1.8.33. **New patch required.** mports had no `files/` directory at all. 1.8.33 needs `#include <stdbool.h>` in `src/base64.h`; `files/patch-src_base64.h` is taken from FreeBSD and applies cleanly. **pkg-plist** synced to FreeBSD's — adds `es ka ro ru sv zh_CN` locales and moves man entries to the end. Verified against staging. **Dependencies unchanged**; all verified present in the tree and installed (`libgnutls.so.30`, `makeinfo`, `msgfmt`, `bash`, `ca-root-nss.crt`). Nothing was built or installed to satisfy them. ## MidnightBSD delta preserved `MAINTAINER`, `LICENSE= gpl3`, the `CERTSFILE` + `security/ca_root_nss` run dependency, the `post-extract` REINPLACE of the CA path in `doc/msmtp.1`, `.include <bsd.mport.options.mk>`, and the plain …
