Description

This a port of NACK-Oriented Reliable Multicast (NORM) Transport Protocol implementation, as specified in RFC 5740. This protocol can provide end- to-end reliable transport of bulk data objects or streams over generic IP multicast routing and forwarding services.

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install net/norm
pkg install norm

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/net/norm/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	norm>0:net/norm
LIB_DEPENDS=	libnorm.so:net/norm

25cd6b3c76 Gleb Smirnoff net/norm: use upstream divert(4) patch to make it working on modern FreeBSD
This was accepted upstream to the protolib and added to the port in ab6be4dbf3bb. Recently the patching was silently deleted in 5963119a132c. The update of norm to 1.5.9 did not update the bundled dependency protolib to a version that includes ba9ca1ca7d73592268ebfd5a43271303e76f461e, instead it tied protolib to an older version. 307bd9e8f3 Älven net/norm: Bump PORTEPOCH to fix package version ordering
The previous version format (1.5r6) was incorrectly evaluated by 'pkg version' as greater than the newer version (1.5.9). Bump PORTEPOCH to force a proper upgrade path for existing installations.
