Description

git-proxy is a caching proxy for package registries. It sits between package managers and their upstream repositories, keeps a local copy of every package it serves, and keeps serving them while the upstream is unreachable.

It speaks the FreeBSD pkg(8) repository protocol, so a single host can cache pkg.FreeBSD.org (ports, kmods and pkgbase, for every ABI) and self-hosted poudriere repositories for a whole network. Repository catalogues are served byte for byte, so pkg(8) still checks their signatures against the keys in /usr/share/keys.

It also proxies npm, PyPI, Cargo, RubyGems, Go modules, Maven, Hex, OCI images, Debian, RPM, Alpine and Arch repositories and more.

Version history 1

  1. 0.11.0 aa11c086dc

Upstream's version as each commit to the port's Makefile set it, or as this site first saw it in the system's packages; the tree's own revisions are not versions here.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install git-proxy

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/ports-mgmt/git-proxy/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	git-proxy>0:ports-mgmt/git-proxy

Packages

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.

Dependency graph

Ports that need it on the left, what it needs to run on the right (to build, as it needs nothing to run); at most 8 of each. "Dependencies" below lists them all.

Dependencies

The Makefile names none itself; they come from USES and USE_*.

The full lists below include those, and their dependencies in turn.

No port depends on this one.
