Description

Go is an open source programming environment that makes it easy to build simple, reliable, and efficient software.

FreeBSD allows you to install multiple versions of Go at the same time. As a result, this package installs only versioned binaries (i.e. goXYZ, gofmtXYZ). To get unversioned names (go, gofmt, etc.) install the "go" package or the lang/go port.

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install lang/go127
pkg install go127

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/lang/go127/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	go127>0:lang/go127

Packages

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.

911d7d4e65 Dag-Erling Smørgrav lang/go127: Add go 1.27
Changes: Go 1.27 now supports generic methods: a method declaration may declare its own type parameters. This widely anticipated change allows adding generic functions within the namespace of a particular data type where before one had to declare such functions with a scope of the entire package. A key in a struct literal may now be any valid field selector for the struct type, not just a (top-level) field name of the struct. Function type inference has been generalized to apply in all contexts where a generic function is assigned to a variable of (or converted to) a matching function type.
