gstreamer1-plugins-bad -- stack buffer overflow in H.266 video parser
GStreamer Security Center reports: It is possible for a malicious third party to trigger a buffer overflow that can result in a crash of the application and possibly also allow code execution through stack manipulation.
Affected versions
- gstreamer1-plugins-bad < 1.26.2
By system
1 still vulnerable, 1 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
| System | Port | Version | State | Fixed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DragonFly | multimedia/gstreamer1-plugins-bad | 1.26.0 | vulnerable since 2025-07-06 | |
| MidnightBSD | multimedia/gstreamer1-plugins-bad | in range, by version | ||
