net-mgmt/net-snmp -- Remote Code Execution (snmptrapd)
· CVE-2025-68615 · VuXML entry
net-snmp development team reports: A specially crafted packet to an net-snmp snmptrapd daemon can cause a buffer overflow and the daemon to crash.
Affected versions
- net-snmp < 5.9.5,1
By system
1 still vulnerable, 1 fixed. Where VuXML applies (FreeBSD, DragonFly, FreeBSD's derivatives) a port is vulnerable while its version is in a range; pkgsrc says itself whether it lists a CVE of this advisory; OpenBSD and MidnightBSD keep no list this site reads, so their row is only an estimate: FreeBSD's ranges applied to upstream's version.
| System | Port | Version | State | Fixed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DragonFly | net-mgmt/net-snmp | 5.9.4_6,1 | vulnerable since 2026-01-06 | |
| OpenBSD | net/net-snmp | 5.9.5.2p1 | out of range, by version | |
| NetBSD | net/net-snmp | 5.9.5.2 | not listed | |
| MidnightBSD | net-mgmt/net-snmp | 5.9.5.2_3,1 | out of range, by version | |
| FreeBSD | net-mgmt/net-snmp | 5.9.5.2,1 | fixed |
