Description

The Nginx Development Kit (NDK) is a module that adds additional generic tools that module developers can use in their own modules.

It is required to build several third-party nginx modules.

This port only installs the module sources. The module itself is built by the nginx ports when their DEVEL_KIT option is enabled.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install nginx-module-ndk

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/www/nginx-module-ndk/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

No options to configure.

Message after installing

This package contains the sources of the NDK module only.  It does not
install a loadable module, and installing it alongside nginx does not
add anything to a running server.

The module itself is built by the nginx ports.  To use it, build
www/nginx, www/nginx-devel or www/freenginx with the DEVEL_KIT option
enabled, or with any option that depends on it.  Those ports pick the
sources up from /usr/local/share/nginx/modules/nginx-module-ndk and
produce ndk_http_module.so.

www/nginx-module-ndk: Update to 0.3.5

Switch to the openresty fork. The repository at vision5 has seen no commit since February 2025, while openresty carries the fix for complex values with nginx 1.31.3, which www/nginx-devel needs, and is the tree that the CI of the modules depending on the NDK clones. Follow the layout of the other module source ports and add a pkg-message that explains how the nginx ports turn the sources into ndk_http_module.so. Sponsored by: Netzkommune GmbH
