Description

The websockify module translates between a WebSocket connection and a plain TCP connection, so a browser can reach a service that speaks no WebSocket of its own. The payload travels base64 encoded or in binary frames, which is what noVNC expects of a VNC server behind it.

This port only installs the module sources. The module itself is built by the nginx ports when their WEBSOCKIFY option is enabled.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install nginx-module-websockify

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/www/nginx-module-websockify/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	nginx-module-websockify>0:www/nginx-module-websockify

Message after installing

This package contains the sources of the websockify module only.  It does
not install a loadable module.

The module itself is built by the nginx ports.  To use websockify, build
www/nginx, www/nginx-devel or www/freenginx with the WEBSOCKIFY option
enabled.  Those ports pick the sources up from
/usr/local/share/nginx/modules/nginx-module-websockify and produce
ngx_http_websockify_module.so.
