Description

Two modules for ZStandard compression. The filter module compresses responses on the fly for clients that announce zstd in Accept-Encoding, the way the gzip filter does. The static module serves a pre-compressed .zst file from disk when one sits beside the requested file, and never calls into libzstd at all.

This port only installs the module sources. The modules themselves are built by the nginx ports when their ZSTD option is enabled.

Install

Binary package:

pkg install nginx-module-zstd

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/www/nginx-module-zstd/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	nginx-module-zstd>0:www/nginx-module-zstd

No options to configure.

Message after installing

This package contains the sources of the zstd modules only.  It does
not install loadable modules.

The modules themselves are built by the nginx ports.  To use zstd,
build www/nginx, www/nginx-devel or www/freenginx with the ZSTD
option enabled.  Those ports pick the sources up from
/usr/local/share/nginx/modules/nginx-module-zstd and produce
ngx_http_zstd_filter_module.so and
ngx_http_zstd_static_module.so.
