Description

Electrum is an easy to use Bitcoin client. It protects you from losing coins in a backup mistake or computer failure, because your wallet can be recovered from a secret phrase. There is no waiting time when you start the client, because it does not download the Bitcoin blockchain.

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install finance/electrum
pkg install py312-electrum

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/finance/electrum/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	py312-electrum>0:finance/electrum

Packages

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.

Message after installing

For hardware wallet devices to work you need to be in the operator group
and need r/w permissions to the appropriate /dev/usb/* device.

Add a user to operator group:

% pw groupmod operator -m satoshi

Edit your configuration:

/usr/local/etc/devd/hardware_wallet.conf

Then restart devd to load the new rules:

% /etc/rc.d/devd restart
