Description

METIS is a set of serial programs for partitioning graphs, partitioning finite element meshes, and producing fill-reducing orderings for sparse matrices. The algorithms implemented in METIS are based on the multilevel recursive-bisection, multilevel k-way, and multi-constraint partitioning schemes developed in our lab.

METIS provides high-quality partitions, is extremely fast, and produces low-fill orderings.

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install math/metis
pkg install metis

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/math/metis/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	metis>0:math/metis
LIB_DEPENDS=	libmetis.so:math/metis

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.

31db5fbb81 Thierry Thomas math/metis: switch integers size to 32 bits by default
Previously we had INTSIZE64 (and -fdefault-integer-8 for Fortran) on 64 bits archs, but most consumers programs expect 32 bits integers by default, and this causes more problems than benefits. 64 bits integers are used only for matrices with more than 2³¹ unknowns, which is not the common case!
