Description

CSV/TSV formats are basic and ubiquitous file formats in both Bioinformatics and data science.

People usually use spreadsheet software like MS Excel to process table data. However this is all by clicking and typing, which is not automated and is time-consuming to repeat, especially when you want to apply similar operations with different datasets or purposes.

csvtk is convenient for rapid data investigation and also easy to integrate into analysis pipelines. It could save you lots of time in (not) writing Python/R scripts.

Install

As a binary package — by origin, or by package name:

pkg install science/csvtk
pkg install csvtk

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/science/csvtk/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	csvtk>0:science/csvtk

Packages

The version each package repository carries. “-” means the repository builds no package of it, “n/a” that there is no such repository.

I've been retired for a few years, and it is unlikely I will be doing any more scientific computing support in the future. I have continued to maintain ~160 ports to the best of my ability, mainly as a favor to the community, but I can no longer justify the time and effort required. I am therefore releasing most of my scientific ports, along with a few others, to ports@. I will continue to maintain ports I am actively using and those for which I am upstream.
