Description

markdown-it-py is a Python port of markdown-it, and some of its associated plugins.

  • Follows the CommonMark spec for baseline parsing
  • Configurable syntax: you can add new rules and even replace existing ones.
  • Pluggable: Adds syntax extensions to extend the parser (see the plugin list).
  • High speed (see our benchmarking tests)
  • Safe by default

Install

Binary package:

pkg install py312-markdown-it-py

From the ports tree:

cd /usr/ports/textproc/py-markdown-it-py/ && make install clean

To depend on this port in another port's Makefile:

RUN_DEPENDS=	py312-markdown-it-py>0:textproc/py-markdown-it-py
